Full-time SLP Position
PEDIATRIC SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (CFY)
Playworks is seeking a bright Clinical Fellow to begin a full-time position (year round) in June, 2006.
Playworks is a local private practice providing assessment, intervention, and consultative services to families of young children (infancy through early school age) with complex communicative disorders. The practice is directed by a speech-language pathologist, with full-time clinical staff in areas including speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and early childhood special education. We are committed to developmentally appropriate practices and specialize in the use of Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-Based (DIR) model in our work with young children with autism spectrum disorders.
Challenging pediatric caseload comprised primarily of young children (2-10) with autism spectrum disorders, but expanding to include a broader range of pediatric cases. The CFY will be encouraged to pursue continuing education and explore specialized clinical interests (e.g., fluency, aural rehab, phonology, written language) as we expand our scope of practice to include infant development and assessment/treatment for children with learning disabilities.
A master’s degree in communicative disorders is required, as is eligibility to begin the clinical fellowship year. The ideal candidate would have a child development background, clinical reasoning abilities, an interest in interdisciplinary treatment, and excellent communication skills. The person must be organized, dependable, flexible, and sincerely interested in learning. Primary job site is at our pediatric clinic in downtown Redlands. Home-, school-, and clinic-based work with some driving required.
Serious applicants are requested to submit a letter of interest and resume with three references and an expected salary range to Kelli Wilms, M.S., CCC-SLP. Our contact info is as follows:
